Heck

Am back in Penang for 3 days already. Have another 3 days to go. Am having fun so far if not for the things i would not want to mention in this blog now. Have been shopping most of the time for things for myself and for my friends. Bought 2 tops, a jacket and a pair of running shoes. The pair i have got no bunga already. Just wanted to get ready before i go for my field trip.

Speaking about that, i wonder if my tanks in my lab are working fine. I left them cleaned and aerated before i came back...all 25 of them. But i did not circulate the water yet. Left that to my lab assistant to come back and spend time with danny. So i hope he's taking care of them for me. Have to do this right so that the berried female prawns don't die when i put them in. Keepin my fingers cross. Hopefully i would be able to map their life cycle.

For those who are still unaware, my feud with danny is over. So we're cool for the moment but i can forsee more of it coming. But i know i would be able to deal with them better the next time it happens...IF it happens hehe.

I'm sorry dear...

This is my public apology to you. I made a mistake by getting angry too fast at you. Like Alvin said i know what kind of person you are so it was silly of me to react rashly. I love you with all my heart and would never want to hurt you. It's just that what you said came at the wrong time.

Being apart from you is not easy. I have to be strong every minute of the day so as to not get distracted from my work. But these pen up feelings couldn't keep there any longer. It's been two months since we last saw each other. I don't know if anyone can understand what we are going through and how much we miss each other's company.

I love you baby and i'm sorry for what happened. Hang in there for the both of us the way i would too. I know how tough it is but i promise you i'll be home soon...

P/S: to all of you who replied my previous post - thank you ;-)

1 Question

How many of you out there think that, in the event of joking, a person calls his/her gf/bf kanasai, as something acceptable?

If yes, why?
If no, why and how should he/she react?

Just wondering la...

Kevin and I. Fella didn't put on his jubah cause it was so hot. But he did look pretty good that day, i think ~

David looking proud and happy in his pink jubah. He's always putting on a wide, shy smile. David! cannot be so shy ya?

The brain. One of those nicer exhibitions they had during the convo hehe ;-)

Ah Mau's Vegetarian stall . Not bad the food...best vegetarian food i've ever tasted. Kudos to the chef!

To my best friends David and Kevin...

We met on the the tennis court one day,
Our purpose - to play,
We made friends with each other,
And that grew by the day.

Time pasess so fast,
Now you're no more here,
But i will always have you in my heart,
Remebered, unforgotten.

The times we shared,
The good and the bad,
The lessons we learnt over tennis,
The talks we had over meals.

My heart is stll saddend,
By the fact that you both are not by my side anymore,
To comfort me in times of trouble,
To help me in times of need.

But i know this has to happen,
Whether i like it or not,
Like they say "To meet and to part,
is the saddest thing of the human heart"

We no longer play on the court anymore,
We no longer hear each other laugh,
We've gotten on with our lives,
You're now working,
But i'm still here.

And i'm happy that you still remember me when u came back,
And i'm glad that you still care,
I'm grateful for our friendship,
Which i know you and i will forever remeber and will always share.

UNIMAS Aquatic Resource Gala Night 2005

This happened last night. Everyone looked great. But soem had too much makeup on. Others were dressed for discos and some for horse-racing (2 girls wore those big decorated hats to the dinner - WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PPL???!!!)

Anyways, the dinner started late. Felicia, Sarah and I were one of the few to reach first together with a lecturer. And guess what? We ourselves were 10 minutes late. So the dinner started with the short speaches from the Dean, Head of Program and Student Affairs Dean. They were hungry too you see. The hotel served us quite good food. It was an 8 course dinner with a cold dish as a starter, soup, prawns, fish, chicken, Vege, Fried rice and fruits as dessert. Everything tasted good :-)

So there was this activity that night which had the lecturers go up and sing. One of them did - he was sportting enough to do so. My class mate accompanied him. They sang this old malay song so nicely that i think the both of them deserve praise for. B.E.A.U.tiful! It is nice to see lecturers and students get together without the wall in the middle. A little fun wouldn't hurt right? Just to loosen up and improve the student - lecturer relationship :-)

We enjoyed ourselves the whole night through. Singing, taking countless photos and videos and making fun of each other. After all, we only have less than a yr left...

UNIMAS Convocation 2005

This weekend was convo weekend. A lot of things were going on in campus for the past 3 days. Super seniors were seen hustling around looking for jubahs that in the end looked oversized or undersized on them. Others braved the hot weather just to line up for them.

Saw some of my old friends. Really good to see them again. Some already working and some continued to do Masters. It's funny how they came back to the thing they must have stayed away from while they were studying here. There's this restaurant called Pohonmas where after u come out from it, u have the smell of food on your body that you will carry for the rest of the day - to class, toilet, library...etc (imagine the no. of ppl we "kill" everyday). And, ya... the super seniors were all hanging out there.

Stalls were set up for the occasion. About 50 of them all scattered about the univeristy compound. Sold all kinds of things from clothes to food to dance session (they claim they can help u de-stress - i didn't buy it hehe). What i did buy was food hehe. They had the best barbequed chicken but in the whole world. I think Sarah agrees with me but not Ah Mau. He tried one and gave the rest to me... UNTUNG!!! Ah Mau's stall sold vegetarian food which tasted quite good i'd say. I particularly like the fish (It's mabe from bean curd and sea weed hehe Gracilaria sp.)

So we all who were walking around actually had quite some fun for those 3 days. Didn't have to go out and eat hehe. Guess we should have these kind of things more often hor?

Proposal presentation

I know i haven't been updating my blog lately. Sorry cause i have been bz. I had my proposal presentation last thursday. Spent quite a lot of time preparing for it to make sure i do well.

It all began at 8am that morning. I was a little late to reach the place where we suppose to present our proposals for the final yr project. Just the day before i found out my slot was changed to the afternoon. Bugged me a quite a bit cause i didn't like last minute changes but i the show had to go on and it did.

So we heard presentation after presentation. Some of them seemed pretty interesting and others blamed their factual mistakes on typing errors. This had most of the lecturers and students laughing but not all of them did. One of them sounded my friend for giving such a lame reason. Well, we all have different reactions to different things hehe.

in no time the afternoon came and i was the first presenter for the session. I freaked out a bit before that but soon got used to the situation. After presenting my points with a volume even was alien to, i got "shot" with a few questions like "why do u consider the species ornamental?". My answer to that question was a simple "erm... because it looks nice?" That got everyone laughing for reasons i am still oblivious to... Even the lecturer who asked me question laughed! hmmm.....

All in all i did ok. Better than i did the last few times i presented (according to my friends). Very good (according to my Supervisor). So i'm happy...

FYP Proposal

Finally it's done! i fianlly finished my final year project proposal. It took up so much of my time that i didn't even have time to blog. Stayed up til late at night to complete it and 4 of the 5 days of classes i had to be in campus by 8am because class starts at 8am. Phew!

During the past few weeks my lecturer has change my title twice and my sampling site once. Imagaine the amount of work i had to go through. it's like writing a proposal 3 times each on a different topic altogether. It's only by God's grace i pulled through. I never would have made it without Him.

French class is getting tougher and my first role play would be next week. We've gone through introduction of self, country of origin, marital status and l'alphabet so far and it's getting tougher by the day. so many things to remember and only practice will make perfect...literally! Luckily my housemates are taking the subject together with me. We can practice together hehe

The lecturer is still cute and we've found out he's already has a gf that looks like a kolo mee seller (according to a source whom i will keep anonymous hehe). So we thought we would stalk him to see how true it is...ya as crazy as we can get. We found out he lives in a housing estate near campus but that's as much as we know hehe. So far...we have scrapped the idea of hunting him down but who knows what might happen in the near future when 3 crazy girls get together...hehe Power Puff Girls!
