Darling's birthday

6.9.06 - My Darling's Burp-day hahaha

I decided to surprise him at his office with a birthday cake...on the top was a really huge logo of Manchester United his favourite team of players. He was quite shocked and was lost for words. like he related he cut the cake and enjoyed it with his colleagues. They left the logo untouched saving it for him hehe. The cake was great. He managed to save some for me so i tried it.
That happened during lunch time.

For dinner we went to Restoran Korea hehe. This place is owned by a church member whose son is very good friends with Danny. According to Danny they used to play together...They are 14 years apart! And according to Joo Hyun, Danny was the only guy in church who treated him nicely. He was ususally bullied because he was a foreigner and was not used to the traditions here.

The food was really fantastic. I tasted quite a few new stuff there. The Korean tea tasted like tang kua sticks boiled in water. Sweet with a hint of tea and rice flavour. New to my taste buds. Found out from Joo Hyun who was so nice to accompany us throughout dinner that there are more than 1 kind of kimchi. It can be mixed with other vege to make other kinds of kimchi. As you can see in the picture most of the appetizers are hot, hot, hot. Not good for a person who has cough. I coughed all through the meal but was determined to taste eveything. It was delicious!

We also ordered bbq and bulgogi. The bbq was the drier version of Bulgogi but i prefer the latter. Danny likes the barbie so we ordered both hehe. I simply adore bulgogi. Tasted it in Seoul Garden before and the taste has stuck with me til now. Everytime i think Korean food i think Bulgogi hehe. Bulgogi is beef served with tang hoon, vegetables and some sauce which has a kind of pleasant salty taste. Excellent really.

We had the pancake which is really egg and stuff inside...prawns, squids, vegetables and chilli!!! My goodness...I didn't notice there was chilli in there. I was enjoying my conversation with the guys that i had conveniently put it into my mouth hehe

It was around this time that Joo Hyun realized it was Danny's birthday hehe. Joke's on him. So he served us with some Korean "cap apek" wine to celebrate hehe. So nice of him. We had a bottle and by the 4th cup Danny was already read. hehe. He doesn't have a knack for these things which is good actually hehe. The tasted like beer a bit but it was definitely smoother than it. Has a bit of a sweet taste so it was pleasant to drink while having beef. Went great together :-*). According to Joo Hyun, you can't serve Korean wine to yourself because it's a sign of loneliness. Those having the meal with you have to do it for you...with both hands. And you have to receive it...with both hands!

After talking summore about our plans to go to Korea with Joo Hyun we drunk up and went to Gurney to walk some of the food off. I enjoyed myself with him and i hope we can share many more birthdays together. Happy birthday baby!~
